Our story
I started training Sky installers in the field in 1998, when they came out of the training department, I would do their practical training. As my career moved further away from installation work, my training duties changed alongside.
In 2002 I became a team coach and was given the task of mentoring new starters as well as coaching experienced engineer, I moved on to become a senior engineer and eventually got the role of Technical Trainer.
I spent the next 7 years, training a multitude of different courses, both in-house and in partnership with external colleges up to a City & Guilds standard. In 2012 I was made redundant and began driving for a living again.
After sitting numerous exams and courses, I decided I would like to go back into training and in 2025 I started training drivers on some of our more technical contracts, these include how to use the safety equipment, how to strap loads safely and how to use liquid tankers, etc.
In 2026 I started Starlight Training to formalise my training and qualified as a BTEC Level 3 in Education and Training (Formerly known as PTTLS) I am currently working towards my Transport Managers CPC.
